1947 Are You Popular? (Coronet Instructional Film)
That is the campest throw ever 2:33
Looks like ignoring the front yard landscaping, and Dad's shooting craps only one night a week, and Mother and Mary working "outside" the home several nights a week, really paid off! If I'm not mistaken, Dad has that cheery glow that comes from 4-5 shots and half a dozen beers after work every night (privileges). Gee willikers!
They should play these on TV today since the majority of kids now don't seem to care or even have a notion of how important simple things like this are. Nowadays people don't have manners, and it has a lot to do with how their parents brought them up. If we play this on TV maybe it will make people raise their children better. Love these old films
lol. That was the best part.
wow, teenagers act nothing like this today. Most teens want to stay out AFTER 10:30pm. What happened?
Some of these old videos could still be used today if people could over look the old clothing styles and old ways of talking, we would see that some of these concepts are still great. I wish there was a way to take the same scripts, but modernize the rest and teach the children and teens today a thing or two. Even some adults could use this!
Manners at my house mattered a lot but of course this was in the 70's and 80's. You watched your language and minded your manners in front of my Mother. If you did not you could be sure Mother would be very pleasant the next time she got you alone.
Excelent!!
Yet another film in which Oliver Reed is chased across the rooftops by an angry mob of men with pitchforks and torches. lol :)
Me too.
Childhood memories! I always crack up at how he takes the cake upstairs.
good
Go ahead and do your best, Lola - but Tab isn't really interested, if you know what I mean.
Love Is Lyrical (Whisper Sweet Little Nothing to Me)
they can say no, doesn't mean the man will accept the answer...idiot.
YOOOHOOOOO!
I watched this expecting to feel derisive, but it actually made me feel warm and wistful.
well she is popular because "she likes girls as much as she likes boys" ; )
'Where did you learn all those words?' :D
Maybe this is set in West Viginia or Kentucky?
Hammer's most Horrible Horror! Save none! Brilliant!
Most children today eat at fast food places so they feel- "Why do I need table manners?" My own nieces scoff at the idea and make fun of me as I try to show them how to eat properly. Now they are teenagers and there is no teaching them. If they had this in school at least it would be common knowledge for them.
My best part was seeing Marsha Hunt getting "clubbed" by her sister.
mary janes and bloomers? ooookay.
Wally needs to take a pair of hedge clippers to those eyebrows of his....ugh! BIG turnoff. And "Ellie" looks like a young Ethel Mertz, only 1,000 times uglier.
i think they need to show this to kids today!! Maybe girls would have more respect for themselves.
Those wallpaper... MY EYES!!!!!! x_x
Some of these maneuvers are now illegal in most states.
BLACK SABBATH!!!!!!!! YEAH \\m//
o.o
Wow, this is actually pretty helpful!
"Let's go over to Teen Town!!" So cute.....
couldn't agree w/ you more!
Karl Marx? I bet most Americans back then thought of Groucho, Chico, Harpo and Zeppo! And Lennon? John Lennon's father???
Haven't seen it yet, but it's good to know having a kid didn't slow down their drinking! Haha!
No,,,girls who park in cars are not popular.
That's a swell video!
LOL "she tricked me into taking her out to dinner tonight" they found a way to "repay" him for taking her out - "as much as I hate to admit it, Carolyn has tracked down a lot of things I couldn't find myself" -
You would think he had changed that shirt once in 7 years...
Women have always been able to say "No."
Anyone Notice no one was really eating
There are a lot of "Ginny"s in my school...
cross fire is a great film and a brave film to do for it's time.this movie touches on racism and hate crimes.the movie also has a great cast with the 3 great robert's: mitchum, young and ryan.robert ryan was just great at playing these dark and violent characters.he was also great in beware my lovely, act of violence and odds against tomorrow.loved mitchum in night of the hunter and the friends of eddie coyle.

I know another way for a girl to repay a boy for entertaining her. Handshakes. Handshakes are nice.

the whole world today 2011 should watch and learn...boy ,todays world went to hell!
the actors appear to have bit of an age gap... she seems to be 13 while he seems 25.
In some ways, this method of going about dating is much more rational than the confusing mess of modern relationships. Seems like boundaries and intentions were better defined, too.
